This year, my family had 2 reunion dinners. One at my dad's side which is in Tampines and the other at my mom's side which is in Choa Chu Kang. We had it on different days this year since it's stupid to rush from one end of Singapore to the other within a day for 2 different meals. We were lucky that this year's Chinese New Year Eve falls on a weekend, so we had Saturday and Sunday for reunion dinners. This is what my bro and I wore for the first reunion dinner which was at my dad's side. In Tampines. Which is also in Singapore but seems so foreign.

There was so much food. Including food for steamboat, stewed pork in dark sauce, popiah and rice of course. Steamboat is more than enough to go around, there are so many ingredients involved! Vegetables, meat, fish, cuttlefish, prawns, squid, etc. I think the main thing is the soup of the steamboat, because at the end of the steamboat, the plain soup base in the start, becomes thick, sweet soup full of the essence of the prawns, fish, meat and whatever that's been cooking in it.

This is the cutest piece of food I've ever seen. It is actually fish cake in a shape of a pig's face. I was saying that they should make fish cake with a dragon design since it's the year of the dragon. That's what I call eating like a king! But imagine what a tough job it's gonna be for the manufacturers. Oh well.

After eating lunch, it's MAHJONG TIME! No family gathering is complete without mahjong. That's just nonsense. I just love playing mahjong. Haha. However, there is a need of a kind of "feel" before playing mahjong. I can't find any words to describe that kind of feeling, but there has to be this feeling in your gut and mind before playing mahjong. It's either that or it's just me.

The BEST win of the day! AWESOMENESS.

Homemade pumpkin and sweet potato glutinous rice balls. Freaking delicious. You can actually taste the texture of the sweet potato and pumpkin. I mean, obviously you can taste sweet potato and pumpkin too!! I had 2-3 bowls of this. Feel like having them now.

Now. Time moves so fast. Sometimes I just wish that we can slow time down. We all know that we can't and all we can do for ourselves in the future is fully appreciate what we have in the present and not regret doing or not doing something.

Polariods taken with Xavier.

This is the reunion dinner at my mom's side. Which is way closer to where I live. I really like this top, I think Sammie saw this top. I really need to buy more clothes, the other clothes that I have I no longer wear them. I was thinking of selling them off at a flea market or something.

Steamboat again! TONS & TONS of food.

ABALONE.
What can I say?

MAHJONG again. Mom & Shi Hao in the picture.

Polariods taken that day.
